ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- Four of the five Elizabethtown men's basketball players recorded double-digits in the close, 84-81 loss against visiting Moravian in Landmark Conference play.
Austin Finarelli led the game with 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Rance Russo totaled 17 points and five rebounds.
Reese Ziegler added 14 points while
Zuri Harris tallied 11 points.
The Blue Jays were able to keep it close throughout the first half only trailing 41-38 at the break. Moravian's largest lead of the first half was with just five minutes remaining as they led, 37-24. Etown was able to cut down on the Greyhounds lead to come within three points as a 3-pointer from Harris and
Ben Stanton helped.
The second half was a back-n-forth fight. Etown would gain their largest lead of eight points five minutes into the second half following two Jays three's. Minutes later a three from Finarelli kept Etown in the lead 62-56. Moravian was then able to come back with the lead but wouldn't lead by more than three points. One final push from the Blue Jays to tie up the game wasn't enough as they fell, 84-81.
Elizabethtown returns home Wednesday, January 22 to host Drew at 7 pm.
