ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—First year,
Meadow Keet scored her second game winning goal of the week as the Elizabethtown field hockey team shutout Lycoming, 1-0 in the Landmark Conference season opener.
The Blue Jays got on the board early, following a shot by
Mia Fino, Keet scored the lone goal of the game at the three-minute mark. Fino assisted on the goal. Through the end of the quarter, Etown held control as
Hannah Long,
Drew Bridges, Fino, and
Hailey Meyer combined for five shots. Lycoming got going in the second quarter out shooting the Blue Jays 10-5.
Angelina Giglio-Tos was a major help in the goal for Etown making seven of her 10 saves in the game.
The second half slowed down for both teams as the Warriors held the 5-4 edge in shots while Etown held the 5-3 edge in penalty corners.
Elizabethtown will step out of conference play as they travel to Gettysburg Wednesday, September 25 at 4 p.m.
