SCRANTON, Pa.—The Elizabethtown's baseball team Landmark Conference Championship run came to a close, Sunday as they fell 9-2 to Scranton in the final game.
The Blue Jays will await the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, May 13
th at 12:00 pm in hopes to keep their season alive.
Scranton started off the scoring in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead and then added a third in the second. Elizabethtown scored one of their two runs of the game in the fourth.
David Woolley single to left center and then scored following
Mason Woolwine's and
AJ Bednar's singles.
The Royals really got things going in the fourth, tacking on five runs on four hits and an error to extend their lead to 8-1. Scranton then took a 9-1 lead after five innings. In the sixth Etown would score their final run on a bases loaded walk.
Elizabethtown falls to 31-12 overall on the season.
