WASHINGTON, D.C.-- The Elizabethtown baseball dropped their fifth Landmark Conference game of the season as they fell, 9-2 at Catholic.
Justin Peterson pitched 3.1 innings as he recorded a career-high eight strikeouts.
Catholic bats were off to a strong start as they scored four runs on four hits in the first inning. The next three innings were scoreless as the Cardinals held on to a 4-0 lead. Elizabethtown scored their first run of the game in the fifth.
David Woolley doubled down the right field line.
Mason Woolwine singled up the middle to score Woolley. Catholic doubled their score as they tacked on four more runs in the seventh to extend their lead to 8-1.
The Cardinals scored their final run in the eighth, taking a 9-1 lead. Etown scored one more run in the ninth as
Bryce Keller reached first via a walk and then advanced on a balk.
Alex McClain knocked an RBI-single to left field to bring Keller across home plate.
Elizabethtown will host Wilkes for a three-game conference series starting on Saturday at 12PM.
