SCRANTON, Pa.-- Senior,
Sam Deiaco recorded a hat-trick in the Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team's, 17-3 loss at Scranton on Saturday.
Rachel Murphy earned a career-high 18 saves in goal and also grabbed her 200th career.
Scranton scored the first seven goals to lead Etown in the first. With just 14 seconds remaining in the first,
Megan Gress assisted Deiaco on the Blue Jays first goal. The Royals scored their first goal of the second about midway through to go up, 8-1 on Etown. Scranton tacked on two more goals to go into halftime with a 10-1 lead.
The Royals started off strong in the third scoring with the first minute of the third quarter. Scranton added two more goals within a couple of minutes on each other to extend their lead to 12-1. Deiaco grabbed her second goal of the game at the 5:14 minute mark. Scranton tallied two more to end the quarter with a 15-2 lead. Scranton again scored within the first minute of the final quarter. Midway through the fourth, Deiaco scored the Blue Jays third and final goal of the game. The Royals would round out the game with goal number 17 with just 30 seconds remaining.
Elizabethtown will host Catholic on Wednesday, April 17 at 4PM.
