Eight Blue Jays Record Points in Loss to Arcadia

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team fell, 13-8 against visiting Arcadia Friday evening. 

Sam Deiaco led the team with a hat-trick. Lauren Puntanen recorded her first career-goal as she netted two. Rachel Murphy made eight saves in goal. 

Arcadia started off netting their first goal, three minutes into the first quarter. Elizabethtown responded with the next two goals from Drew Bridges and Abby Bach. The Knights tied it up at 2-2 at the 9:24 minute mark. Arcadia then jumped ahead and ended the quarter with a 5-3 lead. Neither team could break through until four minutes remained in the second quarter. Arcadia recorded two goals to extend their lead to 7-3 going into halftime as they only allowed one Blue Jay shot. 

The Knights scored within the first six minutes of the third quarter to lead, 8-3. Four minutes later, Madison Hennelly assisted Deiaco on Etown's fourth goal. Arcadia added another with three minutes remaining before Deico added another off a free-position with just 28 seconds remaining in the third. Arcadia was quick to start in the final quarter to lead by five points. The Knights added two more goals before Etown tallied three straight to come within four. With just a second left on the clock, Arcadia scored the final goal to win, 13-8. 

Elizabethtown returns home Wednesday, March 13 at 4PM as they host DeSales.
