Trynosky Grabs 300th Career-Save in Loss to DeSales

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse held strong until the final six minutes of the fourth quarter when DeSales took control to defeat Etown, 20-13. 

Alayna Trynosky recorded her 300th career-save as she totaled a season-high 15 in the game. 

Mia Fino recorded her first career goal. Drew Bridges and Megan Gress each tallied four each while Gress also added five assists. Bridges also grabbed seven draw controls. Sam Deiaco scored three goals and an assist. 

Elizabethtown got on the board first as Gress assisted Madison Hennelly on a woman-up goal. DeSales responded quickly to tie the game, 1-1. The Bulldogs went up, 3-1 before a goal from Deiaco brought Etown back within one. DeSales led after the first quarter, 4-2. In the 12th minute of the second quarter, DeSales recorded their fifth goal of the game. Three minutes later, the Blue Jays answered back as Gress scored on a woman-up goal. The two teams traded goals as neither could lead by more than two through the end of the second quarter. At halftime DeSales led 10-7 after scoring the final two goals of the quarter. 

After a defensive battle at the start of the third quarter, in the 11th minute Fino recorded her first career-goal. Minutes later Deiaco assisted Gress as the Blue Jays came within one of the Bulldogs. DeSales wouldn't let Etown trail by just one as DeSales ended the third with a two-point lead at 12-10. The Bulldogs were quick to start the fourth quarter going up, 13-10. Bridges and Gress assisted each other on the next two Etown goals to trail by one at the 10 minute mark. At 7:31, Deiaco would score Etown's final goal of the game as DeSales went on a six-goal surge to end the game. 

Elizabethtown is back at home this Saturday, March 16 at 1PM as they host Eastern.
