Blue Jay Bats Explode in Shutout Sweep vs. Ursinus

FORT PIERCE, Fla.-- The Elizabethtown baseball team ended their week spring break trip in Florida with a bang as they shutout Ursinus, 12-0 and 4-0 totaling 25 hits across the two games. 

GAME 1: ELIZABETHTOWN 12; URSINUS 0 
Mason Woolwine went 2-3 with two runs, and two RBIs. David Woolley went 4-4 with two runs scored. Between Greg Zerbe and Quinten Perilli the two totaled nine strikeouts in the seven inning game. 

The Elizabethtown bats started hot, scoring five runs in the top of the first. Woolley singled through the left side, then advanced on Perilli's single. Alex Perrin hit a single to third to advance the two runners. On a fielder's choice, Woolley scored. AJ Bednar hit a RBI-single to bring home Perrin. Alex McClain brought the score to 4-0 after a 2-RBI double to right center. McClain then scored on an error. Etown added a sixth run in the second. 

The Blue Jays stayed hot in the third scoring six more runs on five hits. Woolwine, Perilli and Bednar each registered 2-RBIs each in the inning. The final four innings on both sides were scoreless as the Blue Jays breezed by Ursinus, 12-0. 

GAME 2: ELIZABETHTOWN 4; URSINUS 0
Bryce Keller went 3-3 with two runs scored, and a stolen base. RJ Agriss went 2-3 with one run and one RBI. 

Elizabethtown scored three of their four runs in the bottom of the first. Woolley singled to the shortstop and then advanced on Keller's single up the middle. Agriss brought Woolley home on an RBI single. Keller scored off a wild pitch before a single from Benar brought Agriss across home plate. Etown didn't score their final run until the fifth inning. Keller reached first via a walk and then advanced to third after two singles. With the bases loaded, Griffin Patridge drew a walk to score Keller. 

Etown moves to 6-4 on the early season after going 5-2 in Florida. 

The Blue Jays will travel to Lebanon Valley this coming Tuesday at 3PM for a single game.
