Blue Jays Complete Comeback over Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE Pa.— Down 6-1 after three innings, the Elizabethtown baseball team came back to defeat Lebanon Valley, 8-6 on the road, Thursday.

The game was scoreless until Elizabethtown scored the first run in the top of the third. Garrett Schwartzbeck reached first after being hit by a pitch and then advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt. Schwartzbeck then advanced to third on a wild pitch and went home on an error by the shortstop. Lebanon Valley also got things going in the third as they took a 6-1 lead off of three hits and one error.

The Blue Jays got back in it in the fifth scoring three to come within two of the Dutchmen. In a game full of errors, David Woolley reached first on an error by the second baseman and advanced on Quinten Perilli's double. On a ground out to third, Woolley scored. Etown's next two runs of the inning were then scored on an error to bring the score to 4-6.

In the sixth, Woolley once again reached first on an error and then advanced to second. Woolley went to third on a wild pitch and then went home on Perilli's RBI double down the left field line. Down one after the sixth, Etown turned things around in the seventh to take a 7-6 lead. The Blue Jays added an insurance run in the eighth as Perilli led off the inning with a triple to left center. On a fielder's choice, Perilli was able to run home.

There was a total of 10 errors between the two teams. Zach Silfies earned his second win of the season on the mound while Perilli earned his second save of the season. Perilli went 3-5 with two runs, one RBI, a double, and a triple. Montgomery went 2-5 with two RBIs and a double.

Elizabethtown starts off Landmark Conference play this Saturday at 12PM as they host Scranton in a three-game series.
