Women's Lacrosse Falls at Immaculata

IMMACULATA, Pa.—The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team fell short, 22-15 at Immaculata, Saturday afternoon.

Sam Deiaco led the team with ten points, totaling nine goals while adding an assist. Megan Gress totaled five points of one goal and four assists. Ella Kammerer recorded her first collegiate goal. 

Elizabethtown started off strong in the first quarter going up 2-0 against the Mighty Macs. Immaculata then burst out to a 9-2 lead as they recorded their final goal of the first quarter with 16 seconds remaining. Immaculata scored the first goal of the second quarter within the first few seconds. Abby Bach then assisted Deiaco on the Blue Jays third goal in the 13th minute. The Mighty Macs would add three more before Deiaco added yet another goal for Etown. The Blue Jays trailed 13-4 at the nine-minute mark. Immaculata went into halftime with a 15-4 lead.

To start the third quarter, Gress assisted Deiaco and Madison Hennelly on the next three goals. Deiaco added an unassisted goal to come within seven of Immaculata. The Mighty Macs got back out back with a ten-point with six minutes remaining in the quarter. Deiaco and Bach ended the quarter with a goal as Etown trailed 20-10.

In the first minute of the final quarter, Deiaco scored two more goals and Immaculata responded with two more of their own. Etown tried to gain momentum through the end of the quarter but fell, 22-15. Kammerer tallied the Blue Jays second to last goal of the game for her first career.

Etown returns home March 8 at 6PM to face Arcadia.
