Blue Jays Hold Off Moravian

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown men's basketball team got back into the win-column, Saturday as they defeated Moravian, 68-65. 

Austin Finarelli led the game with 17 points and five rebounds. Dylan Rowe totaled 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds and five blocks. Rance Russo and EJ Finney each added eight points. 

Elizabethtown's Rowe made the first two buckets of the game and helped pull Etown ahead, 11-4 early in the first half. A three from Moravian brought the Greyhounds within three at the 12 minute mark. Midway through the half, the two teams traded baskets as the Blue Jays continued to hold onto the lead. Finarelli sunk a 3-pointer with seven minutes remaining as Etown lead, 20-16. Elizabethtown started to pull away as they tallied 11 straight with the help of two straight three's from Reese Ziegler. Finney, Alon Gorham and Finarelli made baskets down the stretch with four minutes remaining in the half. In the final four minutes the Blue Jays held the Greyhounds to five points as Etown held a 43-26 lead at halftime. 

Russo and Finarelli started off the scoring in the second half for Etown as the team held onto a 21-point lead. Moravian gained momentum coming within just two points of Etown as the Greyhounds tallied three 3-pointers down the stretch to about midway through the half. Tyreke Herbert and Niko Georgelis each made a layup to continued with the lead at 56-51. In the final five minutes the teams went back and forth, as Elizabethtown was able to make their free-throws. Moravian would try for one final 3-pointer at the buzzer but missed to hand Elizabethtown the 68-65 win. 

Elizabethtown moves to 8-13 on the season and 5-9 in the Landmark Conference as the Blue Jays move back up to sixth in the Conference standings. 

The Blue Jays will hit the road, Wednesday, Februaury 7 at 7PM to face Goucher.
