Blue Jays Drop Conference Contest at Drew

MADISON, NJ.-- Drew Bridges scored the Elizabethtown field hockey team's lone goal this afternoon, as the Blue Jays fell, 3-1 at Drew in a Landmark Conference contest.

Drew started off the first quarter with strong possession as they fired off a flurry of shots in a row. Midway through the quarter, Meadow Keet made a short pass from the right to Bridges who back handed it into the goal to lead, 1-0. The Blue Jays took multiple chances through the end of the quarter after two penalty corners but all shots were saved by Beth Kelly the Rangers goalie. Drew tied it up early in the second quarter off a penalty stroke. Through halftime the game was tied, 1-1.

The Rangers dominated in the third quarter scoring their two final goals within one minute of each other which gave them the 3-1 lead. In the fourth quarter, Etown out shot Drew, 7-1 but they couldn't find the back of the net as Beth Kelly continued to make saves for the Rangers.

Angelina Giglio-Tos made ten saves in the goal for Elizabethtown.

Elizabethtown will travel to Susquehanna next Saturday, October 12 at 1 p.m.
