TOWSON, Md.—The Elizabethtown field hockey team cruised to a 4-0 win over Goucher Saturday afternoon.
Rachel Troutman recorded her first career multi goal game as she netted two while
Riley Stephan added two assists.
Hailey Meyer recorded her first career goal.
Elizabethtown struck early following a penalty corner, Stephan helped
Hannah Long find the back of the goal. Goucher would take just two of their 15 total shots during the game in the first quarter.
Goucher gained some momentum going into the second quarter firing off three straight shots but
Rachel Murphy was there to make the stops in goal. Through the rest of the quarter, Etown dominated on their side of the field as they took nine shots but were unable to make it in the goal.
Just over the first minute of play in the third quarter, Troutman extended the Blue Jays lead to 2-0. Ten minutes later, Troutman added her second goal while Stephan added her second assist on the day.
The Jays closed out the third tallying two more corners and taking two more shots. In the 49
th minute of the game, Long assisted Meyer on Etown's fourth and final goal. The Gophers made a final effort to score one but both shots at the end of the quarter were blocked.
Elizabethtown will travel to Juniata this coming Tuesday at 7 pm.
