ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team hosted Moravian in their final home game of the season where the Greyhounds defeated the Blue Jays, 2-1.
After a slow first quarter, Moravian took five penalty corners in the second before recording their first goal of the game just before the half. Elizabethtown earned a penalty corner early to start the third quarter before
Hannah Long's shot was blocked by Moravian. In the 33rd minute, the Greyhounds extended their lead, 2-0.
Drew Bridges took two attempts on the goal before the end of the quarter but one was saved by Moravian's, Maia Machado while the other went wide.
The Blue Jays gained momentum going into the fourth quarter taking two shots early before
Hannah Long fired off a shot into the back of the goal shortly after a corner.
Etown held the 9-8 in shots and 8-7 edge in corners over Moravian.
Elizabethtown will travel to Goucher this Saturday, October 26 at 1 pm.
