SCRANTON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team moved to 1-1 in the Landmark Conference, Saturday after falling, 4-1 at Scranton.
Mia Fino had the lone tally for the Blue Jays while
Hannah Long added the assist.
Rachel Murphy totaled nine saves in the goal for Etown.
In the first quarter,
Salena Paronish took the Blue Jays lone shot of the half but it was saved by the Royals goalie. With three minutes remaining in the first quarter, Scranton recorded their first goal of the game. In the second quarter, Scranton stayed dominant recording five shots and earning two penalty corners in the first eight minutes of the quarter. At the 23 minute mark, Scranton extended their lead to 2-0.
After halftime, Scranton was quick to start, scoring in the first minute of the third quarter. Elizabethtown was able to gain some control in the quarter taking shots by
Megan Meyer and Fino. With three minutes remaining in the quarter, Long assisted Fino on the Blue Jays goal. In the final quarter, the Royals regained momentum as they tallied their final goal in the 57th minute to win, 4-1.
Elizabethtown will step out of conference play on Thursday, September 28th as they face Stockton at 6PM.
