ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.— The Elizabethtown field hockey team dropped their season and home opener to Lebanon Valley, Friday afternoon. The Dutchmen blanked the Blue Jays, 4-0.

Angelina Giglio-Tos were able to hold off LVC until the final minute of the first quarter when they scored their first goal of the game. In the second quarter, Lebanon Valley broke through again for their second goal. At the half, LVC led Etown, 2-0.
At the start of the third quarter, Etown was able to gain possession. Following a penalty corner,
Hannah Long fired off a shot but it was saved by the Dutchman goalie. Three minutes later, LVC was on the board again. At the start of the final quarter, Lebanon Valley was awarded a penalty stroke. Following the scoring stroke, the Blue Jays held on till the end of the game, tallying three penalty corners and three shots.

Lily DeBlasio recorded two saves in her collegiate debut as she entered the game in the second half.
The Blue Jays are back in action Monday, September 4th as they travel to Hood for a 7:00 PM start.
