Deiaco Records Career-High Ten Goals in Win Over Immaculata

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- Sam Deiaco set a new career-high with ten goals for the Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team in Saturday's non-conference win to Immaculata. Deiaco recorded 12 points which put her tied for third in individual game points and tied for first in individual goals in Etown program history. 

It was a high scoring affair in the first two quarters for the Blue Jays as they put up eight and seven points for a total of 15 points at halftime. Immaculata scored the first goal of the game within the first 45 seconds before Elizabethtown scored five straight. Kendall Ulmer, Madison Hennelly, and Deiaco recorded the goals for Etown. The Mighty Macs came within two at 5-3 before Deiaco and Drew Bridges finished off the first quarter. 

Hannah Cressmman and Ulmer got the scoring started for Etown in the second quarter before Immaculata added another to make the score, 10-4. Deiaco led the Blue Jays through the rest of the second quarter with three more goals. Elizabethtown led, 15-4 going into the locker room. 

Deiaco opened up the third quarter at the 12:07 minute mark, two minutes before the Mighty Macs tallied their fifth. Ulmer and Deiaco finished out the third with the Blue Jays 17th and 18th goals to make sure the clock kept running. Immaculata scored at the 1:27 minute mark to end the third. 

In the fourth, Bridges fired off her second goal, 30 seconds into the quarter. About five minutes later, Ulmer scored on a man-up free position goal. The Blue Jays and Mighty Macs traded goals through the end of the quarter as each totaled two more each. 

Deiaco led the team with 12 points (10g, 2a). Ulmer totaled six goals and grabbed two ground balls. Cressman recorded a hat-trick and nine assists for 12 points. 

Elizabethtown will travel to Alvernia Wednesday, March 22 at 4:00 PM.
