ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Sam Deiaco tied her career high with eight goals for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team in Wednesday's non-conference loss to visiting Lebanon Valley. Deiaco recorded nine points and Megan Gress tied her career high with five assists, though Etown fell 23-14 to the Flying Dutchmen.

It was a two-goal game at halftime as LVC outscored the Jays 5-4 in each of the first two quarters. Lebanon Valley (2-4) went up 2-0, but Deiaco and Kendall Ulmer scored consecutively to tie the game at 2-2 with nearly half the first quarter played. Gress provided her first of five helpers in the game Deiaco's opening goal for Elizabethtown (3-4).

LVC led 5-3 with under 30 seconds to go, but Deiaco scored again with 15 seconds left to put it at 5-4 heading into the second.

The Dutchmen couldn't pull away as their lead got no more than two during the second. Megan Meyer's goal with 6:23 to go made it 8-7, though LVC got their lead up to three goals with 43 seconds before half. As she did in the first, Deiaco scored late, this time with 13 ticks to go to make it a 10-8 game at halftime.

Deiaco, Ulmer, and Gress each scored to open the third as Elizabethtown took the lead 11-10. Lebanon Valley tied it, but Madison Hennelly gave the lead back to the Jays with 11:35 to go in the third at 12-11. It would last for a few minutes until the Dutchmen tied the game once again, and then retook the lead, this time for good with just over five minutes left in the third.

LVC led by two goals after three. Etown did finish the quarter out with a goal to keep it a two-goal margin as Deiaco recorded her lone assist on Gress' goal to make it 15-13.

The fourth was all LVC as they outscored Elizabethtown 8-1 to take a commanding lead and get the win 23-14.
