McDaniel's Big Second Quarter Puts Green Terror on Top of Blue Jays

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's lacrosse team returned home on a cold windy Saturday as they fell, 16-7 to McDaniel. 

McDaniel was quick to start scoring their first goal at the 14:23 minute mark. About two minutes later, Elizabethtown answered back as Hannah Cressman assisted Sam Deiaco. Through the next several minutes the two teams shared 12 turnovers. With two minutes remaining in the first, McDaniel took a 2-1 lead and then 20 seconds later, the Green Terror scored their third goal of the game. 

Six different goal scorers for the Green Terror put up nine goals in the second quarter while allowing just two Etown goals. Five minutes into the second, Cressman assisted Deiaco. At the 6:24 minute mark, Cressman recorded her third assist of the day to Kendall Ulmer. At halftime McDaniel led, 12-3. 

Coming out of halftime, the Green Terror recorded their three goals of the quarter within the first five minutes of play. At the 7:20 minute mark, Megan Gress assisted Cressman for goal number four. Three minutes later, Ulmer assisted Deiaco for her third goal of the game to complete her hat-trick. 

In the fourth quarter, McDaniel scored their lone goal of the quarter three minutes into play. The Blue Jays quickly responded with their final two goals scored by Madison Hennelly and Deiaco. Cressman tallied the assists on both goals. Through the final ten minutes of play both teams played strong defense. McDaniel recorded two shots while Elizabethtown recorded five shots in the final minutes of the game. 

Deiaco led the team in goals with four while Cressman led in assists with five while also adding one goal. Cassidy Pawlicki and Madison Morabito each picked up five ground balls and three draw controls. 

Alayna Trynosky made seven saves in goal. 

The Blue Jays will host Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, March 15 at 4:00 PM.
