HUNTINGDON, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown men's basketball team picked up their third Landmark Conference win of the season as they defeated Juniata on the road in a tight matchup. The Blue Jays defeated the Eagles, 54-51 with
Jalin Robinson leading the way with a season-high 23 points.
Juniata started off with a three-pointer about two minutes into play before Elizabethtown went on a 10-0 run, taking a 10-3 lead. The Eagles tied up the first half at 13-13 following a layup at the 8:46 minute mark. Robinson sunk his first three of the night to regain the lead at 16-15. Through the end of the half, both teams traded baskets. Robinson closed out the half with ten points for the Blue Jays in the final five minutes as Etown led, 23-20 going into the locker room.
Robinson started off the scoring to Etown at the start of the second half with a layup.
Ben Stanton made a jumper extending Elizabethtown's lead by seven points. At the 15:22 minute mark, Robinson made a layup on a fastbreak. The Eagles gained some momentum and tied it up at 36-36.
Dylan Rowe dropped in a layup and a free throw to give Etown back the lead. Through the end of the half the two teams went back and forth before free throws from Stanton and Robinson sealed the Blue Jays win, 54-51.
Robinson totaled a season-high 23 points as he went 8-15 in field goals and 3-6 in three-pointers. Rowe added 12 points and ten rebounds for a double-double while Stanton totaled tens points and six rebounds. The Blue Jays shot .373 while Juniata shot .333 from the field.
Elizabethtown will travel to Moravian this Saturday, February 4 at 4PM.
