ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown men's basketball team dropped their third straight Landmark Conference game inside Thompson Gymnasium, Saturday as the Blue Jays hosted Susquehanna. The River Hawks defeated Etown, 68-75.
A total of just eight points between both sides was made within the first five minutes of play. After
Austin Finarelli tied up the game at 4-4,
Tyreke Herbert added a layup followed by an
MJ Branker dunk to take the lead. Etown went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead by four before Susquehanna brought it back within one. With four minutes remaining in the first half,

EJ Finney and
Niko Georgelis contributed points on the run as the Blue Jays led, 22-18. The River Hawks tied it up at 22-22 after two straight jumpers. Just under three minutes, Susquehanna ended the half on a 9-2 run as they took the lead, 31-26 going into halftime.
Finarelli started off the second half with two layups and a 3-pointer, tying up the game 33-33. The two teams traded points as they kept it tight until Susquehanna was able to pull away by five as they brought the score to 46-41. Finarelli sunk a three midway through the half as Etown trailed by four. A layup and a three from
Reese Ziegler tied up the game at 49-49. The River Hawks then went on a 9-0 run to bring their lead out to eight points. Rowe and Georgelis added points in a two-minute span as Susquehanna continued to lead, 66-59. A steal and a made layup on a fastbreak from Finarelli cut the River Hawks lead to five. In the final two-minutes Susquehanna was able to hold on to a seven point cushion as they defeated Etown, 75-68.
Finarelli led the game with 22 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Finney added ten points and four rebounds while Georgelis pitched in 13 points and five rebounds from the bench.
Elizabethtown steps out of conference play next week as they make a short trip to Lancaster Bible on Thursday, December 14 at 6PM.
