SCRANTON, Pa.—The Elizabethtown women's volleyball team dropped their second straight Landmark Conference match as they fell at Scranton, 3-0.
Set one saw Elizabethtown and Scranton trade points until the Blue Jays went on a 3-0 run, taking an 11-8 lead.
Savannah Lesley and
Katie Scaggs recorded kills while
Jena Minnick served up an ace.
The Royals then rattled off eight straight points before Etown tied up the set at 16-16. Scaggs and
Gracie Britten each smacked down a kill to take an 18-17 lead. Scranton finished off the set with a 7-2 run to win, 25-21.
Scranton jumped out to a 9-2 lead to start set two. The Royals then fired off nine points in a row, extending their lead to 18-3. Lesley and Scaggs brought Etown to nine. The two teams traded points to the end of the set with Scranton picking up the 25-14 win.
The Blue Jays started out with a 4-2 lead in set three as Lesley and Scaggs put up a block. Etown and Scranton traded points as the Blue Jays held tight to a 13-12 lead after three straight points. Going on a 6-1 run, the Royals pulled ahead by four. A kill from
Georgianna Kahley, an
Emma Bitner ace, and a Royal error left Etown trailing by one.
Karlee Ray added the final two kills for Elizabethtown as Scranton recorded three kills to win the set 25-19.
Elizabethtown continues their road stint as they travel to Susquehanna on Tuesday, October 10 at 7PM.
