ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team fell, 2-1 to visiting Juniata in their final Landmark Conference game of the regular season.
It was a quick start for Elizabethtown as
Megan Meyer scored off of
Riley Stephan's insert on a penalty corner. Juniata then responded minutes later to tie up the game, 1-1. Just over a minute later, the Eagles doubled up on their goals as they took a 2-1 lead. The second quarter was all Etown as the Blue Jays were able to fire off four shots while holding the Eagles to one shot early in the quarter.
Elizabethtown kept up their momentum as they recorded multiple opportunities on the goal in the third quarter.
Drew Bridges and Stephan both took a shot on goal but it was saved by the Juniata goalie. To start the fourth quarter, the Eagles were able to take two shots.
Angelina Giglio-Tos came up both times with big saves in the goal. Through the end of the quarter the Blue Jays took five more shots with three being on goal. Elizabethtown came up just short on opportunities as they fell, 2-1 to Juniata.
Elizabethtown season does not end as they will travel to Moravian at 1PM this Saturday for the First Round of the Landmark Conference Tournament.
