BETHLEHEM, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey dropped a 4-0 decision at Moravian in Landmark Conference play, Wednesday evening.
Moravian started off dominate in the first quarter as they earned five penalty corners within the first eight minutes. On the Greyhounds fifth corner, at the 8:40 minute mark the team recorded their first goal of the game. About a minute later, Etown gained posession earning two corners in a row before
Kylie Pietras fired off a shot but it was saved by the Moravian goalie. In the second quarter Elizabethtown was able to take two shots while allowing zero for Moravian.
Moravian got off to a hot start in the third as they tallied their second goal just two minutes into the quarter. The Greyhounds took two more corners before the Blue Jays got their chance,
Drew Bridges and
Chloe Smith each recorded shots but they both went wide. In the 38th minute, Moravian extended their lead, 3-0 and about five minutes later the Greyhounds recorded the final goal of the game. The fourth quarter was scoreless as Moravian edged Etown in shots, 2-1 with four penalty corners.
Elizabethtown returns home this Saturday for senior day as they host Goucher at 1PM.
