ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Brennan Tates scored her first career goal and
Alayna Trynosky recorded her 100th save of the season in Elizabethtown's 21-6 loss to No. 16 Catholic at Wolf Field on Saturday.
Sam Deiaco had a pair of goals to lead the Blue Jays offensively.
Catholic (7-4, 3-0 Landmark) scored twice in the first four minutes to go up 2-0.
Megan Gress found
Kate Ziegler for her 39th of the season with 10:15 left in the first to make it 2-1. The teams traded goals as the Cardinals went up 3-1, but Deiaco made it 3-2 with a little under 10 minutes to go with her first of the game and fifth of the season.
The Cardinals had 10-2 at the end of one quarter.
Off a draw control win by Ziegler late in the second quarter,
Hannah Cressman was able to find Tates in transition toward goal and the junior's shot found the back of the net for the first of the year along with the first of her career with 1:35 left before the half. Gress scored earlier in the second for Elizabethtown (1-10, 0-3 Landmark).
Alexis Patterson tallied her 10th of the season in the third quarter on another assist from Gress. Deiaco netted her second of the game with the Blue Jays up a player late after a Catholic yellow card. Patterson had the assist on Deiaco's sixth of the season.
Trynosky played 33:05 and made 13 saves, including the 100th of the season for Etown.
Rachel Murphy had two saves in her 26:55 of action.
Elizabethtown plays at Juniata on Friday, April 15, at 4 p.m.
