READING, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College baseball team won its fourth straight game, topping Alvernia, 8-2, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 10-12 overall while the Wolves fall to 7-14-1.
Senior
Robbie Bertucio finished the afternoon 1-3 with a team-high two RBI. Classmate
Joey Thomas went 2-3 with two runs scored and graduate student
Andrew Fisher tallied two runs scored as well. Sophomore

Zach Rogacki and Nick Nutile each tallied an RBI for Alvernia.
Holding a 4-2 lead after five innings, the Blue Jays put their stamp on the game in the sixth inning. Fisher got the scoring started, knocking a single to left field and plating freshman
RJ Agriss. A few batters later, a sacrifice fly by Bertucio made the score 6-2. Etown completed the inning by taking advantage of an error to score two more runs bringing the score to 8-2. The Blue Jays' pitching stoos strong the rest of the way, preserving the victory for Etown.Â
Senior
Eric Sipling (1-1) earned his first win of the season, allowing no runs and scattering three hits with four strikeouts over three innings.
Nick Calicari (0-2) took the loss for the Wolves, allowing four run over 4.1 innings.
Elizabethtown is back in action on Saturday at home with a doubleheader against Susquehanna. Opening pitch is set for 12 p.m.
