WESTMINSTER, Md.-- The Elizabethtown men's basketball team fell, 72-59 at McDaniel, Saturday evening.
The first half started in a back and forth fashion as
Tyreke Herbert tied up the game 10-10 after a layuip. A three from Herbert brought the Blue Jays out in front, 14-10. Etown gained momentum as
Niko Georgelis brought the Jays out in front by ten on a fastbreak layup. The Green Terror went on a run as they took the lead, 31-30 after a three. McDaniel finished out the half on a jumper with a 35-32 lead going into the locker room.
Elizabethtown started the second half close as they trailed by one following a
Dylan Rowe layup. McDaniel got things going in the half as they went up by nine following a layup. With four minutes remaining in the half,
Jared Archer sunk a three bringing the score to 56-52. McDaniel kept climbing as they extended their lead to 63-54.
Rance Russo sunk a three with two minutes remaining then ended the scoring for the Blue Jays with two free throws. McDaniel ended the game with two free throws as they won, 72-59.
Russo led the team with 23 points as he went 8-10 in free throws. Rowe totaled 12 points going 6-7 in field goals with seven rebounds.
The Blue Jays will return home November 17th at 7 PM vs. Cabrini.
