ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown field hockey team was defeated, 8-1 by No. 3 Rowan in their final non-conference game of the season as senior
Grace Hussey tallied the lone goal for the Blue Jays.
Angelina Giglio-Tos made six saves in the net while
Madeline Kachel recorded three saves for Etown. Rowan was quick to start tallying their first two goals within the first five minutes of play. Within the final minute of the first quarter, Hussey fired the first shot for Elizabethtown but it went wide. In the second quarter, the Profs scored three more goals in the 15th, 24th, and 29th minutes to lead, 5-0 going into the half.
Rowan did not allow an Etown shot in the second or third quarters. In the first minute of the third quarter, Kachel made two saves before Rowan added their sixth goal of the evening. The Profs added two more goals before the end of the quarter to lead, 8-0. In the fourth quarter the Blue Jays started with possession as
Drew Bridges took a shot but it was blocked. At 56:54, Hussey scored the lone goal for Elizabethtown.
Rowan out shot Elizabethtown 22-3 and held the advantage in penalty corners, 7-0.
The Blue Jays will host Catholic on Saturday, October 29th at 1 PM in their regular season finale. The Etown field hockey seniors will be honored prior to the game.
