Women's Volleyball Drops Match to No. 3 Juniata

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.-- The Elizabethtown women's volleyball team dropped their final regular season home match of the season to No. 3 Juniata in conference play as they Blue Jays fell, 3-1. 

Juniata opened up the match taking control as they jumped to a 10-0 lead. Kills from Bryanna MIller and Gianna Krinock brought the Blue Jays back within ten at 14-5. Three Juniata errors gave way to Etown as they continued to trail, 19-8. The Eagles took six of the final eight points to win, 25-10. Starting off set two, Etown led, 4-0 after two Eagle attack errors. Juniata came within one after five consecutive points. Juniata led, 10-9 after three kills before Elizabethtown retook the lead after a five-point run. Gianna Krinock book-ended the five-point run. The Eagles tied it up 15-15 after two kills. Four Juniata errors gave Etown a 22-17 lead. The Blue Jays closed out the set taking the final three points on two Kambrie Hepler aces. 

Set three saw Juniata ahead, 11-4 after five kills in a row. Kills from Miller and Katie Scaggs brought the score to 13-6, Juniata. The Blue Jays came within six after Scaggs smacked down a kill. Two Eagle attack errors gave the Blue Jays two more before Juniata closed the set, 25-17.  In set four, following two Juniata attack errors and a kill from Scaggs the Blue Jays were down, 9-6. Juniata jumped to a ten-point lead after three consecutive points. Krinock slipped in a kill before the Eagles took three point leading, 19-8. Etown couldn't catch up as the Eagles took the final six points winning, 25-11. 

Miller led the team with nine kills, seven digs, and one block assist. Scaggs totaled six kills while Krinock tallied five kills and seven digs. Jena Minnick totaled 11 assists and Hepler totaled 18 digs. 

This is the first match since 2018 that Elizabethtown has won a set against Juniata. 

The Blue Jays travel to York (Pa.) this Friday, October 14th for a non-conference match at 7 PM.
