Cheston Jacobs teamed up for a thunderous block on the final point, as the Elizabethtown College men's volleyball team came from behind to top Penn State Altoona, 3-2, in Thompson Gymnasium Thursday night.
With the win the Blue Jays improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Nittany Lions fall to 0-2 overall.

Steve Swain continued his strong start to the season, hitting .488 with a career-high 22 kills. Classmate
Blake Hildebrand matched a career-high with17 kills and Seeger set another single match record with 56 assists. Junior
Tony Camillo ended the night with 11 kills and freshman
Kyle McKiernan tallied a team-high 13 digs.
Philp Silva led Penn State Altoona, hitting .389 with 22 kills, while Connor Baker recorded a team-high 45 assists.
Down 2-1 after three, Etown forced a fifth set in a big way, hitting .556 as a team to take the frame 25-12.
Penn State Altoona snatched the momentum back at the start of the fifth and final set, running out to a 7-3 lead after an emphatic kill from Silva.
The Nittany Lions remained in front by four all the way to 9-5 before the Blue Jays began to mount a rally. Etown snatched back all of the momentum, rattling off seven straight points highlighted by two kills from Camillo and back-to-back aces from junior
Dan Barckholtz to put the Blue Jays in front 12-9.
The two teams continued to battle as Penn State Altoona managed to tie the score at 15 and again at 16 before taking a 17-16 advantage after a Silva kill. Hildebrand brought the set level at 17 with a kill before and the Jacobs and Seeger completed the comeback, blocking Silva twice for the 19-17 fifth set win and the 3-2 victory overall.
Elizabethtown hits the road on Sunday, January 30 for a tri-match with Saint Vincent and Misericordia. The Blue Jays open with host Saint Vincent at 12 p.m. followed by Misericordia at 2 pm.
