It was a back and forth affair through most of the first half with the Eagles holding a slight advantage. Down by three (25-22) with just under five minutes to play in the opening period, Robinson knocked down a jumper to cut the deficit to 25-24. Juniata, however did answer, pushing its lead to nine (35-26) before a layup by fifth-year senior
Ryan Fitzpatrick with two seconds left made the halftime score 35-28.
After the Eagles pushed their lead to 10 (45-35) with 15:49 on the clock, Etown mounted a rally. The Blue Jays rattled off five quick points, capped off by a three-pointer from Robinson with just under 15 to play, making the score 14:47.
Juniata would push its lead back to double digits yet again, but Elizabethtown continued to peck away at the deficit. Fitzpatrick brought the Blue Jays back within six first, grabbing a steal and laid it in for two on the break to make the score 56-50. The Eagles pushed its advantage back to eight (58-50) before Etown answered again as Gorham drained two from the line to bring the score to 58-52 with 7:39 remaining.
That, however, would be the end of the rally for the Blue Jays as Juniata took back the momentum, pushing its lead to as many as 15 for the 80-70 victory.
Elizabethtown shot 39.3% (24-61) from the floor and made 7-23 (30.4%) from three. The Eagles finished the night 31-60 (51.7%) and shot 31.3% (5-16) from beyond the arc. Juniata found its advantage in the paint, outscoring the Blue Jays 38-18.
