TOWSON, Md. – Seven members of the Elizabethtown College men's lacrosse team earned Landmark All-Conference honors highlighted by graduate Tom Mahoney being named Co-Defensive Player of the Year announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
On top of the major conference award, Mahoney was also a first team selection as a goalie. Joining him on the first team was graduate student Mike Scrafano (A) and junior Nick Cost (M). Collecting second team accolades were junior Alex Kilgour (M), freshman Connor Stewart (SSM), graduate student Griffin Liebsch (LSM), and junior Danny Gilbert (FOGO). The seven selections matches a program record set in 2019.
This is the first time Mahoney has earned a major award from the conference and the second time claiming first team recognition. The Hillsborough, New Jersey native leads the conference in save percentage (.634) and goals-against average (7.55). He will graduate as the program's leader in wins (36) and saves per game (10.52).
Scrafano earns first teams honors for the second time in his career and all-conference accolades for the third time overall. The Easton, Pennsylvania native leads the team in points (25) and assists (13) and is tied for the top spot in goals (12). Scrafano is currently fifth all-time in program history in goals (95), seventh in assists (48), and seventh in points (144).
Cost claims his first postseason award from the conference, joining Mahoney and Scrafano on the first team. The Devon, Pennsylvania native is second on the team in assists (12) and points (19). Cost's assist total is also fifth in the Landmark. He has already cemented his name on the program's career assist list, tallying 49, placing him at sixth.
In his first season with the Blue Jays, Kilgour was a welcomed addition to Etown's offense. The York, Pennsylvania native is third on the team in points (16) and goals (11) and fourth in assists (5). Kilgour earned Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors earlier this season after two monster performances in wins against Moravian.
Stewart becomes the first freshman from Elizabethtown to be named to the All-Conference team since Jeremy Klipple was selected as a first-year in 2016. The Sykesville, Maryland native is first on the team and tied for seventh in the conference in caused turnovers and (10) and second on the team and ninth in the conference in ground balls (30).
Liebsch collects second team honors for the second time in his career. The Downingtown, Pennsylvania native is third on the team in both caused turnovers (7) and ground balls (23). His 56 career caused turnovers puts him in a tie for seventh in program history.
Gilbert earns second team All-Conference accolades for the first time in his career. The Davidsonville, Maryland native is third in the Landmark in won face-offs (72) and fourth in face-off percentage (.545). Gilbert is currently fourth in program history in career face-off winning percentage (.560).
Etown receives an opening round bye in this week's Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship and will host the winner of Drew vs. Scranton on Wednesday, May 5. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m. For the Elizabethtown College Spectator Policy, please CLICK HERE.
