TOWSON, Md. – Junior Bryanna Miller and sophomore Katie Scaggs of the Elizabethtown College women's volleyball team each earned Landmark All-Conference accolades, announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
Miller was named to the All-Conference Second Team as an outside hitter and Scaggs brought home Second Team honors as a middle hitter. It was the second selection for Miller and the first for Scaggs.
A Lancaster, Pa. native, Miller was fourth in the Landmark in kills (297) and kills per set (3.49), while leading the team in both categories. She also finished the year second on the team in digs (294). The junior tallied 11 double-doubles, including her first 20-20 game in a 3-1 win against Cabrini. Miller's 28 digs in a 3-2 win over Moravian this season was also a career best.
A native of West Chester, Pa., Scaggs was a force in the middle for the Blue Jays this season. In her first official collegiate season, the sophomore was second in the Landmark in solo blocks (22), fourth in hitting percentage (.301) and total blocks (77), fifth in block assists (55), and sixth in blocks per set (.83). Scaggs tallied a career-high five solo blocks in back-to-back matches against Cabrini and Geneseo and recorded five or more total blocks in seven matches this season.
Elizabethtown finished the season with a 21-8 record for its second consecutive 20-win season. They earned the two seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament, hosting its first postseason match since 2010. This season was also the first time the Blue Jays were regionally ranked under head coach Matt Hamilton. Etown returns 14 players for the 2022 season.
