ASTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Elizabethtown women's volleyball fell to Neumann 3-0 Wednesday night in non-conference action.
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 15-3 on the season, while the Knights improve to 6-9.
Freshman
Bryanna Miller hit .276 with 11 kills and eight digs. Freshman
Sarah Hanks registered a team-high 16 assists while junior Aiyana Tietze Di-Toro led the way with 11 digs.
ELIZABETHTOWN 0, NEUMANN 3 (21-25, 20-25, 22-25)
- SET ONE: Tied at 10 midway through the opening set, Elizabethtown went on a 4-1 run to take a 14-11 lead. Senior Elle Shatto recorded two kills over this stretch. Neumann battled back to tie the score at 15 before the Knights took a, 18-16 lead. Neumann would continue to lead the rest of the set, taking the opener 25-21.
- SET TWO: With the score tied at seven, the Knights rattled off four consecutive points to move ahead by four (11-7). Neumann moved ahead by five (15-10) before the Blue Jays mounted a comeback, registering five-straight points to tie the score. The Knights would however take the second set, finishing on a 10-5 run for the 25-20 win.
- SET THREE: After Neumann ran out to a 10-6 lead, Elizabethtown awoke, scoring seven unanswered points for the 13-10 advantage. The Knights responded though, tallying four-straight points of their own to move ahead by one (14-13). The Blue Jays once again moved in front after a kill by Miller, giving Elizabethtown a two-point edge (17-15). Neumann however went on a 6-1 run to snatch momentum, wrapping up the straight-set victory with the 25-22 victory in the final set.
