ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's tennis team has enjoyed playing at the Alumni Courts where they have gone unbeaten this season. Sunday's match was no different as the Blue Jays beat Catholic 7-2 for their fourth straight win in the Landmark Conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elizabethtown (8-1, 4-1 Landmark) found itself behind early against Catholic (4-9, 1-3 Landmark). Colleen McLaughlin and Lauren Edwards won No. 3 doubles for the Cardinals as the visitors led with the first point of the match.
- E-town's top two doubles teams, a combined 14-2 on the year, were able to get the job done for the Blue Jays.
Lenea Riehl and
Kailey Caroland won 8-3 to tie the match 1-1 and
Meghan Chemidlin and
Amber Burd outlasted Elizabeth Ast and Lisa Genadry at No. 2, 8-5.
- Caroland, Riehl, and Chemidlin each won their singles matches in that order to give the Jays the five points needed to earn the win overall.
- Burd and
Madelyn Binder also won singles matchups for Elizabethtown, Burd at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-2, and Binder at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-4.
