Southern Virginia upends women's tennis

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Southern Virginia snapped the Elizabethtown College women's tennis team's five-match win streak on Thursday with a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays that came down to tiebreakers in singles action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elizabethtown (8-2) went ahead on Southern Virginia (12-3) in doubles as Lenea Riehl and Kailey Caroland breezed through No. 1 doubles 8-2.
- Meghan Chemidlin and Amber Burd won at No. 2 doubles 8-4.
- The Knights earned a point via LeeAnne Aldrich and Audrey McBride at No. 3 doubles. The SVU duo won close, 8-6.
- Southern Virginia won at No. 6 singles to tie it up at 2-2.
- Riehl and Caroland, after winning in doubles, each won their singles matches to get Elizabethtown back in front and a point away from securing the match.
- Riehl won 0-6, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 and Caroland won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2.
- The Knights were able to come back on the Blue Jays with wins in the final three singles matches, including two in three sets.
- Lauren Morrison won No. 3 singles 2-6, 7-5, 11-9 and Audrey McBride clinched the match for SVU 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1).
