Susquehanna gets late run to sweep baseball

SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- Derek Manning homered to tie the game Sunday, but Susquehanna scored late once again to get by the Elizabethtown College baseball team and earn the sweep over the Blue Jays with an 8-7 win at Bollinger Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Three of the first four hitters in the lineup for Elizabethtown (7-18, 1-8 Landmark) had three hits in the game, including leadoff batter Anthony Knight, Manning, and Mike Christy in the cleanup spot.
- Riley McGinley and Christy were on when Andrew Fisher doubled down the right field line to score both base runners and give E-town a 2-0 lead.
- Bertucio drove in Knight in the fourth to make it 3-0 Blue Jays.
- Susquehanna (10-11, 8-3 Landmark) scored five of their eight runs in the fourth inning to take their first lead of the game at 5-3.
- The Blue Jays were held scoreless in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. Meanwhile, the River Hawks added two more in the sixth to go ahead 7-3.
- Manning sent a three-run home run to left field to bring Elizabethtown back within a run.
- Fisher knocked home his third run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the same inning as the Jays were level, 7-7.
- A single in the bottom half of the inning scored Steve Lorenz as Susquehanna went back in front and Bobby Grigas didn't allow a run in the ninth to earn the sweep for SUS.
