ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Andrew Fisher was a home run short of a cycle for the Elizabethtown College baseball team in a 15-8 loss Tuesday afternoon to visiting Widener at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium. Fisher finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a team-high three RBIs.
Derek Manning added a double and a triple and
Riley McGinley also had a multi-hit effort for the Blue Jays.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elizabethtown (11-21) surrendered three runs to Widener (15-21-1) in the first inning, but were able to get back into the game in the third.

Nick Bein drove in a run with a sac fly to center and
Mike Christy singled in
Tyler McGonigle to cut the lead in half, 4-2.

Robbie Bertucio's sac fly RBI in the fifth made it 4-3 as the Jays were within a run.
- After two runs in the sixth, the Pride put up five in the seventh to go ahead by seven, 11-4.
- Fisher cleared the bases with a triple to left field.
James Kantner, a pinch runner for
Tom Armstrong, McGinley, and Manning each scored for E-town. That made it 11-7 in the eighth.
- Widener extended the lead to eight in the top of the ninth by tacking on four runs with a bases loaded walk and bases clearing double.
- Manning doubled in Christy in the bottom of the ninth with a pair of outs on the board.
- Alex Zilli got a strikeout to end the game in the ninth.
- Each of Elizabethtown's first five batters had RBIs in the game along with Fisher's three. Manning and Fisher both scored a pair of runs.
