READING, Pa. -- Alvernia built up an early lead and didn't surrender it to the Elizabethtown College baseball team as the Golden Wolves went on to win Wednesday's non-conference game at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium by a final of 13-4.
JT Thompson had a pair of RBIs for the Blue Jays in the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alvernia (23-12-2) scored in each of the first three innings and had a 6-2 lead going into the fourth.
- Thompson sent a single to left field to score
Riley McGinley and
Derek Manning. That made it 3-2 in the second inning.
- Down 11-2,
Andrew Fisher launched a shot to deep center field. Fisher wound up with a triple for the second consecutive game.
Tyler McGonigle scored from first on the play.

James Vito reached on a fielder's choice to second.
James Kantner was safe on the play at second and
Dylan Everly scored after leading off the ninth with a double in a pinch-hit appearance.

Nick Bein had a multi-hit effort for Elizabethtown (11-22).
