Ziegler, Baker lead Blue Jays in loss to #20 Scranton

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Kate Ziegler became the third player for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team to reach the 50-goal mark in a 19-8 loss to No. Scranton on Thursday at Wolf Field. Zeigler led the Blue Jays with a game-high five goals. Julia Ferrante had four assists in the game and Madelyn Baker also recorded a hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scranton (13-2, 5-1 Landmark) scored the first five goals of the game before Elizabethtown (5-10, 2-4 Landmark) got on the board.
- Ziegler had her first of five 12:20 into the first half as Ferrante found her cutting to goal. The tally made it 5-1.
- After the Royals went up 11-1, Baker and two from Ziegler made it 11-4 with 5:49 left in the first half.
- Baker added an unassisted goal with 2:26 left before halftime. E-town trailed 14-5 at the break.
- The Royals got the first five goals of the second half and held the Jays scoreless through nearly 15 minutes of action.
- Ziegler recorded her 49th of the year at 15:01 of the second half on another helper from Ferrante, her fourth of the game and 48th of the season.
- Ziegler reached the 50-goal mark, 90th of her career, with 3:32 remaining in regulation.
- Baker closed out the game with her hat trick goal with 2:05 showing on the clock. Both of the goals for Elizabethtown in the final 3:32 were unassisted.
- Abby Kopytko had six saves for the Blue Jays.
- Jess Principe grabbed a team-high five draw controls and Emily Garvin and Kopytko tied for the team-high with three ground balls.
