ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Muhlenberg scored runs in four different innings and held the Elizabethtown College baseball team to a single run in Thursday's non-conference matchup at Cedarcreek Field. The Mules took the game 7-1.
Muhlenberg (10-7) produced a run in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings to take a 3-0 lead late into the game. The Mules widened that gap to seven with a four-run eighth inning.
A pair of pinch hitters,
Dylan Everly and
Taggart Hess, reached base for Elizabethtown (5-13) with one out in the top of the ninth inning.
Arley Shepherd, the third pinch hitter of the frame for the Jays, singled through the left side to bring home Everly from second.
Anthony Knight recorded two hits for E-town, while Hess,
Andrew Fisher, Shepherd, and
Tyler McGonigle had the others for the Blue Jays. Muhlenberg had 12 hits in the game.
Elizabethtown has a quick turnaround with another non-conference game at Swarthmore tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
