Women's lacrosse drops non-conference matchup with Stevenson

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Kate Ziegler had a team high four goals for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team in Wednesday's non-conference loss at Wolf Field to Stevenson. Lexie Sharp and Madelyn Baker also scored for the Blue Jays.

Stevenson (5-3) was able to get seven goals on the Blue Jays in the first ten minutes of the game. The Mustangs had a decisive advantage in draw controls and were able to establish possession of the ball in their attacking end.

STE was up 12-0 before Zeigler scored her first of four goals in the game. Her first goal came off a pass from Julia Ferrante for her 23rd of the season. Baker scored her team-leading 29th less than three minutes later. Baker then dished to Sharp for Elizabethtown's (2-7) third goal with 1:34 left in the first half. She became the third different goal scorer for the Jays. Stevenson led 14-3 at halftime.

Jennifer Beihoff, who came in with 9:10 left in the first half, tied a season-high with six saves in her 39:10 of action, which was a season high for the junior.

Ferrante connected with Sharp on the sophomore's 28th of the year almost midway through the second half. It was the second assist of the game for Ferrante and second goal of the game for Sharp. Beihoff held the Mustangs goalless over the final 8:57 of the game and Ziegler added her final three goals in the last 6:26 of the game. Baker assisted on her third goal of the contest and Sharp provided the helper on her fourth and final tally.

Starting goalie Abby Kopytko had two saves before Beihoff came in during the latter stages of the first half.
