ASTON, Pa. -- Make it four straight wins for the Elizabethtown College men's volleyball team after sweeping Neumann Saturday morning.
Nick Baxter led the Blue Jays in kills and
Tim Zieber provided over 30 assists in the 3-0 win for E-town.
Elizabethtown (11-15, 4-5 CVC) needed less than an hour to dispatch of the Knights. The Blue Jays didn't even allow Neumann (2-17, 0-9 CVC) to reach double digit points in the first set.
The Knights led 2-0 in the first set, but watched as the Blue Jays took over and after a pair of service aces by Baxter, it was 15-5 in favor of E-town.
Ethan Maurer and two Zieber aces helped close out the opening set, 25-9.
The Jays didn't leave any hope for the Knights, holding the hosts to 15 and 17 points in the second and third sets, respectively. Neumann only hit .037 in set two and raised it a little to .115 in the third set. Elizabethtown also had a 5-0 advantage in blocks.
Kyle Murray and Zieber each had two, while Baxter led with a team-high three.
Steven Schreffler, Baxter, and Zieber all had two service aces. Baxter ended the sweep with 18 kills.
Joey Nelson added seven.
Elizabethtown will host Penn State Altoona on Tuesday, March 26, for senior night. The match is set for 7 p.m.
