McGinley's first career homer comes in series opening loss at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Riley McGinley hit the first home run of his career Saturday afternoon at Moravian, but it came in a 13-2 loss to the Greyhounds in the opening game of the three-game Landmark Conference series at Gillespie Field.

Elizabethtown (5-10, 1-3 Landmark) were able to get runners into scoring position in seven of the nine innings played, but were unable to manufacture runs from those situations.

Moravian (7-7, 3-1 Landmark) scored twice in each of the first three innings to take a 6-0 lead into the fourth. While holding the Blue Jays scoreless in the fourth, the Greyhounds added six more runs to double their lead.

McGinley came through with his homer in the eighth inning. Mike Christy led off with a single and scored a batter later after McGinley's two-run shot. McGinley added to his single season career-high RBI total, now with 13 on the season.

James Kantner had a team-high three hits (four at-bats). Anthony Knight, Tyler McGonigle, Christy, and McGinley had the other hits for the Jays.

Elizabethtown will plays its doubleheader with Moravian tomorrow beginning at 12 p.m.
