YORK, Pa. -- Doug Hook and
Robbie Bertucio combined to drive in five of the Elizabethtown College baseball team's six runs Tuesday afternoon at Jaquet Field. The Blue Jays beaten by York (Pa.), 15-6.
York (Pa.) (8-1) did its damage in the first four innings, scoring all 15 of its runs between the second, third, and fourth frames.
Bertucio knocked in the first of his two runs in the fourth inning to get Elizabethtown (4-9) its first run of the game. They trailed 9-1 after the top half of the fourth inning.
The Spartans scored six more in the home half of the fourth to take a commanding 15-1 lead.
Michael Rajnik, who came in to play left for
Derek Manning, lined out deep enough to plate
Andrew Fisher in the fifth. Hook hit a two-run single to right in the seventh to tie his single-game high for RBIs. Bertucio added his second RBI of the game a batter later to score
Tom Armstrong.
Hook set a new single-game career high with his third RBI of Tuesday afternoon in the ninth inning.
Bertucio led E-town with a team-high three hits. Hook had two as did Fisher.
The Blue Jays have a quick turnaround as they host Franklin & Marshall tomorrow at Kevin Scott Boyd Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
