Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's lacrosse remain unbeaten in Landmark with 13-9 win at Drew

MADISON, N.J. -- Led by hat tricks from Carly Thompson, Addie Stang, and Dana Robidoux, the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team bounced back from a mid-week loss to keep its unbeaten record in the Landmark Conference intact. Thompson paved the way with a game-high four goals.

Elizabethtown (9-2, 3-0 Landmark) never trailed in the contest and through 20 minutes of the play led Drew (7-6, 0-2 Landmark) 6-1.

Carly Thompson and Katie Thompson combined to score four of the Jay's first six goals. Stang and Robidoux also tallied for EC. Carly Thompson recorded her 37th of the season 31 seconds into the game, but the lead 1-0 was held in check by the Rangers until Morgan Mason tied it 1-1 with her 26th. It was the only tie of the game.

Stang's 34th of the year nearly two minutes after Mason's goal put E-town in front, ultimately, for good, but that didn't mean Drew didn't get close.

Elizabethtown's 6-1 lead slimmed down to a three-goal advantage by halftime as the Rangers outscored the Blue Jays 3-1 over the final 11:25 of the first half.

Anna Fiorini and Nicole Kinney registered the opening two goals of the second half and Drew was back within one with plenty of time left.

Carly Thompson and Robidoux responded with two to make it 9-6. Allie DiDario got the Rangers within two with 16:09 remaining, but they would get no closer the rest of the way as the Jays began to pull away.

In between those EC goals, Abby Kopytko saved Kelly Dwyer's free position and on the ensuing offensive possession, Robidoux wound up with the goal that made it 9-6, her 20th of the season.

Kopytko had three saves in the game. Her counterpart, Gianna Minogue, had seven saves.

Carly Thompson had a team and game-high eight points (4g, 4a). Robidoux and Stang had three goals each while Katie Thompson posted a pair of goals and assists and Megan DeMichele added a goal.

Fiorini and Mason each had hat tricks for Drew in the loss.

The women's lacrosse team will return to Wolf Field and host Scranton Thursday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
