High-powered attack leads women's lacrosse over Goucher on Senior Day

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team is off to its best start in program history at 8-1 since beginning the 2007 season with the same record. The Landmark's top-scoring attack scored early and often against Goucher and won easily, 17-1.

Allison McLamb was all over the field for Elizabethtown (8-1, 2-0 Landmark) as usual. The senior scored the opening goal of the game 27 seconds into the contest on an assist from Katie Thompson. It was McLamb's 18th goal of the season.

The Thompson's then went on a three-run scoring run of their own with Carly Thompson scoring twice, her 31st and 32nd goals, and Katie Thompson's goal sandwiched between and coming a player down. Dana Robidoux scored a player up with 20:03 on the clock and E-town led 5-0 after ten minutes of play.

Elizabethtown's defense held Goucher (1-10, 0-2 Landmark) without a shot through the first seven minutes until Molly Brenton pushed a shot right of Abby Kopytko's goal.

McLamb aided in the defensive effort, causing five first-half turnovers to halt the Gophers.

Megan DeMichele scored her second of the season at 15:25 after generating a turnover and scooping up the ground ball. She moved in on goal uncontested and found the twine to give the Blue Jays an 8-0 lead.

E-town led comfortably at the half, 12-1.

Jennifer Beihoff started the second half in goal for EC and played 21:26 of the final 30 minutes, making one save. Caity Howell played the final 8:34 and made three saves.

Addie Stang had a second-half hat trick and four total in the game. Madelyn Baker and Katie Thompson provided assists on Stang's first two tallies of the second half.

Abby Spessard passed off to Carly Thompson, who scored her 35th of the season and fifth of the game to get Spessard her first career point.

McLamb tied a season-high with five caused turnovers, grabbed four draw controls, and had seven ground balls. She has also scored in every game this season.

Elizabethtown will host Stockton on Wednesday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
