Robidoux tops 100 career points, Blue Jays roll past Gwynedd Mercy

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Seven different players recorded goals for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team in an 18-3 win over Gwynedd Mercy Monday evening at Wolf Field. Addie Stang and Dana Robidoux led the Blue Jays with five goals each, while Miriah Dwyer scored her first career goal. Robidoux passed the 100-point mark in her career in the win.

Robidoux, who set a new single-season career high in goals with her first in Saturday's win at Goucher, added five more to her season total, including the opening score of the game less than a minute in. 28 seconds later, Stang recorded her first of five as Elizabethtown (6-6) was out 2-0.

Carly Thompson, Stang (2), and Robidoux made it 6-0 in favor of E-town and Madelyn Baker scored with 19:04 to go in the first half to make it 7-0, all before Gwynedd Mercy (1-9) picked up its first shot of the game with 18:22 on the clock. Carrie Kilgore got in close on goal, but Abby Kopytko made her only save of the game to keep the Griffins scoreless.

E-town was up 9-0 before Gwynedd got on the board with 16:31 left in the first half. Brianna Greer scored unassisted, her tenth of the year. Mary Nell Donahue responded 24 seconds later off one of Katie Thompson's game-high five assists, which tied her single-game career high. Robidoux and Stang each scored once more as the Jays went into halftime ahead 12-1.

The first two goals of the second half went to Elizabethtown to go up 14-2. Greer scored the Griffins' final goal of the game, her second of the evening, with 23:31 left in regulation.

Dwyer, who came on early in the second half as a substitution, was fouled and lined up for a free position attempt. The junior was able to beat Griffins' goalie Bria Gillard for the first of her career.

Elizabethtown wound up outshooting Gwynedd 36-13, with 26 shots on goal to six for GMU. Ashley Gibson came on to play the second half for E-town and made two saves.

The women's lacrosse team will rest up until Saturday when they host Drew at 1 p.m. on Wolf Field for Senior Day.
