Blue Jays full of PR's at Susquehanna Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — The weight throw record fell once again at the hands of Amanda Porter on Friday at the Susquehanna Invitational. Porter was not the only Blue Jay athlete to set a new personal record as a total of five all-time performances were set at the meet for the Elizabethtown College women's track and field team.

It was the second time this season Porter reset her own school record in the weight throw. On her third toss of the competition Friday afternoon, the junior launched a 13.89m (45'7") throw to improve her second-place standing in the Landmark Conference. Porter finished third in the event. Alexa Feduchak took to the weight throw for the first time in her career, with her first throw measuring in at 10.49m (34'5"), the eighth-best in school history. She also climbed into tenth in the conference in the weight throw. Porter also took third in the shot put at 11.07m (36'4").

In the jumps, Haley Prengaman and Kamara Litchauer both had all-time performances in the triple jump. Prengaman, already on the list in the ninth, moved herself to eighth after a top jump of 9.76m (32'0-1/4"). That mark was good for ninth overall. Litchauer made it onto the top ten list with a jump of 9.47m (31'1"), her personal best.

Kelsey Detweiler had the tenth-fastest 60-meter dash time at Susquehanna, running 8.41. Her running mate, Stephanie Bellott, tied her PR in the 60 from the Bow-Tie Classic back in December with an 8.66.

Lia Chak was tenth in the 400-meter dash after she finished at 1:04.63.

Gabrielle Yankelevich won her section of the 3,000-meter run in a personal best time of 11:44.66. In the overall results, Samantha Gehly just was ahead of Yankelevich's pace at 11:35.80. Megan Howe ran 12:16.24.

The Blue Jays will have a distance medley relay team in action on Monday at the Haverford/Widener Dual before attending the Susquehanna Open next Saturday in the final meet before the Landmark Indoor Championships.
