Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Blue Jays downed by Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. — A big first half from Susquehanna was too much to overcome for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team Wednesday afternoon. The Crusaders scored 12 of the first 15 goals and defeated E-town 18-8 in Landmark Conference play. Addie Stang led the Jays with three goals.

Susquehanna (4-7, 2-2 Landmark) was out in front 9-0 before Elizabethtown (4-8, 1-4 Landmark) got on the board with 11:43 remaining in the first half. Cierra Eckenrode provided the Jays with their first goal, her 12th of the season on an assist from Carly Thompson.

E-town scored three of the next four goals, including Eckenrode's. Stang tallied goal No. 41 on the season and her first of the game. Carly Thompson got her 17th of the year less than a minute after Stang's goal. Thompson's goal was assisted by Dana Robidoux, which made it 10-3. The Crusaders scored twice more to end the half and led 12-3 at the break.

Robidoux and Stang both scored two times in the second, but the Crusaders outscored E-town 6-5. Robidoux picked up her second assist of the game on Carly Thompson's second of the day.

Susquehanna outshot the Blue Jays 37-15 over the course of the game and held a 17-10 advantage in draw controls.

Michelle Fuller made six saves in goal before Jessica Battaglia played the final 23:35. Battaglia had two saves in that time.

The women's lacrosse team will host Scranton on Senior Day, this Saturday, April 18 at 12 p.m.
